Okay, so here is the result of my Friday January 5 weigh in. I tend to weigh myself every day just to see what’s going on each day, but my official weigh in date tends to be Fridays, in the morning before work. The result? 273.8 pounds!! I definitely consider that a successful winter holiday season for my new healthy lifestyle, and here’s why.
Looking back at my weigh in log, I can see that on December 16, 2017 (which was the morning of my work’s holiday dinner), I reached my lowest weight of 273. So over the winter holidays, I merely gained .8 pounds! That’s not bad at all! Especially when you consider some of the foods and drinks that were available over the holidays. First, there was one night of essentially unlimited sangria! Then, pasta and meatballs made by my visiting parents. Stuffed pasta shells, lasagne, roast beef, and lamb chops over Christmas Eve and Christmas. And don’t even get me started on the desserts! Peppermint cannolis, cannoli pie, and bread pudding oh my! So there was all that, and nothing but a .8 pound weight gain. If I look at my progress since just before Thanksgiving, I’ve actually lost just over 6 pounds since then! So that is a holiday success to be proud of!!
As I stated last time, I started going to the gym with a free trial. And those cardio work outs helped a lot and felt pretty darned good. I enjoyed it so I ended up joining as a month to month member, so hopefully that will also continue to pay big dividends. Just have to figure out a good schedule now that my vacation is over and I am back to work. My goal for this month is 12 workouts. I also continued not drinking any soft drinks. And kept my fast food consumption under control, with all of my little tricks and strategies for that.
So, here we are at the beginning of January 2018, healthy lifestyle completely intact and total weight loss to date of 29 pounds. I am very excited to see the continued improvement to my weight and overall health as we move from winter, into spring and summer. My goal weight is to get back to high school weight of about 190 pounds. Probably not going to get there by the beginning of the summer, but I hope to get somewhere close. If I can get within 30-40 pounds of that goal by the summertime, I would be pretty ecstatic with that. Let’s see what happens. Oh and you know what’s the best about weight loss? I suddenly have a much bigger wardrobe!!
